   God (4/25/2010):

   Most people believe in God and mostly out of fear. I truly believe that God is a concept born out of insecurity. Haven't you seen a child, when afraid of something, tries to hide behind his Mom? What does it mean? Child finds security in his Mom! That's the basic instinct of any animal. Even a baby animal gets closer to his Mother when feels threatened. We have seen this behaviour in monkeys, elephants or even in the ferocious animals like lions and tigers. I believe in the theory of evolution. So when the human kind evolved, his mind evolved too! He was able to plan and calculate his activities. He was able to think and reason. The thinking power of human being is so strong that he always wants to know the reason behind every event happening around him including the death of dear ones. Most of the time, he did find the reasons but when he couldn't find the reasons he turned towards "Unknown", thinking that there is somebody behind everything happening in this world. Unknowingly he was trying to find that "someone" who would answer the questions and befriend with Him and so God was born. Naturally, we want that God to help us. So the "God" is a reflection of our mind. We attribute every possible virtue to this God and ask Him to be friendly with us, be our Guide and save us. When our mind keeps thinking about this virtuous God, almighty God; we feel saved. That feeling, that I am saved is very important. Since God is born out of our mind, it only means that God is within us in our mind. It is upto our thought process to manifest that God. When we think about God, attributing him all the virtues and make him Almighty, it actually helps us! Our mind starts purifying. It starts becoming virtuous and Almighty. It becomes fearless.
